Coatings

Why replace your roof when you can restore it?

Houston weather conditions are especially harmful to asphalt based roof systems. Extreme temperatures and intense UV rays dry out most roof materials and induce crazing, cracking, and seam splits. Metal roofs become more susceptible to corrosion as they age, normally beginning at the seams and fasteners, and eventually advancing into the roof panel itself. Older single-ply and EPDM membranes eventually succumb to the elements and oxidize, dry-out, and split at the seams.

Elastomeric roof coatings can save you both the cost and disruption of a replacement roof. Coatings can be used to restore asphalt, metal, and single-ply roof systems. The reflective pigments of a coating will reflect 85% of the sun’s radiant heat, dramatically lowering the temperature of the underlying roof system and preventing further degradation. In addition, as this radiant heat is reflected and the interior temperatures are reduced, you will realize substantially lower air conditioning energy bills.

Since roof coatings are liquid-applied and 100% adhered, you will have no seams to come apart, no fasteners to come loose, and no adhesives to disbond. With the proper primers on metal roofs, you can stop any ongoing rust, as well. The coating becomes, in effect, the sacrificial roof surface. Through periodic recoating, a properly applied coating system can be extended to last the life of the building.
